New Dry Sauna at Deer Lodge

A dry sauna is an excellent way to unwind after a day of exploring the Rocky Mountains. After a long day carving the ski slopes or hiking to the mountain tops you may have found muscles you didn’t know existed. The dry sauna at Deer Lodge will help soothe your tired muscles, your body and your soul.

Not only does a dry sauna give you a feeling of well-being and promote relaxation, it also has many other benefits. Dry saunas can help with circulation problems by increasing your heart rate and may also help with any stiffness in your joints. A dry sauna also helps you release toxins in your body through sweating.

To get the most out of your sauna, drink 8 to 16 ounces of water prior to entering. This will prevent dehydration and help you sweat more to get out more toxins. Stay in the sauna for about 20 minutes and then take a cool shower afterwards. Be sure to drink lots of water to replenish your fluids, as you lose about a pint of water during a 20 minute session. Compliment your sauna with a dip in the rooftop hot tub or curl up by the roaring fire in Deer Lodge’s sitting room.Deer-Lodge-Lake-Louise-Rooftop-Hot-Tub-Snow09-800-400

Your time in the mountains should begin with adventure and end with relaxation. Life moves fast, so take the time to reflect on your day and the beauty of the mountains. Let the sauna not only place your body at peace, but your mind as well.
