As many corporate retreat planners can agree, the best getaways are the ones that combine adventure, relaxation and team bonding. That being said, choosing the best location makes all the difference and is what generates the most excitement among your hard-working coworkers. So why not choose one of the most stunning locations on earth?

Set among a beautiful mountain backdrop, Buffalo Mountain Lodge in Banff not only offers wonderful group accommodation, but it gives teams access to a number of activities right at the lodge, as well as in and around Banff.

When organizing a Rocky Mountain retreat, meeting and event planners can rest easy knowing there will never be a dull moment as far as Buffalo Mountain Lodge is concerned. So here are the best activities you and your team will get to enjoy during your stay:

Hiking Tunnel Mountain

You have probably heard of team workouts, but when was the last time you heard of team hikes to the top of a mountain? After arriving at Buffalo Mountain Lodge, one of the best ways to stretch your legs and enjoy the beauty of Banff and the mountain valley is hiking up Tunnel Mountain.

A popular hike year-round, and a quick 15-minute walk to the trail head from the lodge, you and your team will be rewarded with 360 degree views of the Banff town site, the Bow and Spray river valleys, the Banff Springs Golf Course and surrounding mountain peaks. The hike takes approximately 1.5 hours, which makes it the perfect way to break after a day of meetings, or a great way to enjoy a pre-packed lunch from Buffalo Mountain Lodge once you have reached the summit.

Wine Tastings

When was the last time you were able to sip on some delicious wines that were hand-picked from one of the most knowledgeable sommeliers in the industry? Let alone try it alongside signature Rocky Mountain Cuisine that included bison, elk and duck? Even if you’re not a self-proclaimed foodie, a wine tasting while sampling a delicious charcuterie platter might make you reconsider.

If you are setting your sights on something a little bit more low-key, we invite you and your team to enjoy a drink beside the fireplace or behind the bar in the cozy main lodge.
