Lake Louise Annual Ice Magic Festival – January 19-29, 2017

The New Year is here and what better way to celebrate than by heading to beautiful Lake Louise to take in every detail of the 2017 Ice Magic Festival. For over 20 years, this world-class event has given guests from far and wide the opportunity to get out and explore the Canadian Rockies, all while embracing the winter season. The Ice Magic Festival has attracted 30,000+ visitors each year from all around the globe and continually delights audiences of all ages with stunning artwork made completely out of ice.

To make this event even more wonderful, guests staying at Deer Lodge during this time will receive a free access wristband to the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise lakeside Competition Carving Site at all times. Guests will also be able to enjoy the ‘One Carver, One Hour, One Block’ event on January 20th right at Deer Lodge.

Here are some tips and insider information that will make your Ice Magic Festival experience even more magical.

  • All guests staying at the Deer Lodge between January 19-29 will receive a free wrist band that will grant ALL DAY ACCESS to the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise lakeside Competition Carving Site at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Simply ask a front desk team member for yours. (Wristbands must be worn at all times while attending this event.)
  • All other visitors to the destination are required to purchase tickets Saturdays and Sundays between 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Deer Lodge is located a short 5-minute walk from the lodge, so guests have easy access to and from the event and can come and go at their leisure.
  • Tips for a great day: Visiting the competition carving site before 11 a.m. and after 5 p.m. on weekends is advised to avoid peak day visitation and for a more enjoyable overall experience.
