Year-round, the lodge adapts to every season, providing unique indoor and outdoor experiences that ensure a memorable and tailored retreat.

Prime Location: Secluded, Yet Close to Everything

Elevated from downtown Banff, the lodge offers a sense of privacy and professionalism appreciated for corporate events, yet walking distance to town. Despite its tranquil setting, the lodge is just a five-minute drive or a scenic 15-minute walk to downtown Banff, ensuring easy and convenient access to main attractions and team-building activities in and around town.

Versatile Function Rooms

The lodge offers several function rooms and meetings spaces that can accommodate up to 120 people. Located inside or steps from the main lodge, these rooms can be configured in various layouts—such as theatre, banquet, or round-table—providing flexibility for personalized events. With rustic wood beams, cabin-style décor, and cozy wood-burning fireplaces, the spaces offer a perfect balance of professionalism and intimacy, making them ideal for productive work events.

Modern Amenities for Productive Work Sessions

Function rooms are equipped with all the modern amenities teams need to stay focused, productive, and comfortable. Each room features in-room bars or coffee/snack stations, private bathrooms, and high-speed WIFI.

Luxury Accommodations

With 108 private rooms and suites, each featuring rustic-chic décor and cozy wood-burning fireplaces, the lodge ensures comfort and relaxation with every stay. Many rooms include kitchenettes and private bedrooms, while all are equipped with workstations and modern essentials for productivity. Private entrances and a secluded atmosphere offer individuals luxury and personal space in an intimate, retreat-like setting.

Function Rooms & Meeting Spaces: Charming & Functional

The lodge offers four distinct function rooms and the option for a full lodge rental.

Wapiti Long House & Wine Cellar: Up to 120 Person Capacity

The Wapiti Long House is a private, stand-alone building just steps from the main lodge, offering nearly 1,500 square feet of versatile indoor space. Expansive windows line the room, flooding the space with natural light. Added to the property in 1998, it features wood-beam vaulted ceilings and seamless access to the wrapping outdoor balcony, effectively blending indoor and outdoor spaces.

A Name Rooted in Meaning: The name Wapiti comes from the Cree and Shawnee word for elk. Elk have roamed the Banff region for centuries and are deeply rooted in the Indigenous traditions and cultures of the land—symbolizing strength, endurance, and the interconnectedness of nature. Much like the elk that have long gathered in the Bow Valley, the Wapiti Long House is a gathering place—where shared experiences honour the land, its history, and the wildlife that has always called Buffalo Mountain Lodge home.

Beneath the Wapiti Long House, the Wine Cellar is a distinctive and intimate setting for breakout sessions, cocktail receptions, or wine tastings. Accommodating up to 40 guests, this unique space is available for rental in conjunction with the Wapiti Long House.

Featuring 30-foot wood-beam vaulted ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, large windows that invite ample natural light, and a spacious balcony, it creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Strathcona Room: Up to 60 Person Capacity

deal for small to mid-size gatherings of up to 65 people reception style, the Strathcona Room offers stunning views of Cascade Mountain and an abundance of natural light through expansive windows. Located on the second level of the main lodge, it features 20-foot vaulted wood beam ceilings and a balcony ideal for outdoor sessions or socializing.

Cascade Room: Up to 12 Person Capacity

The Cascade Room is a cozy, boardroom-style meeting room perfect for small groups or breakout sessions, accommodating up to 12 people. This intimate room is filled with natural light, creating a vibrant and focused atmosphere for meetings and discussions.

Full Lodge Rental: Rent Your Own Lodge

For larger corporate groups, many opt for a full venue rental, granting exclusive access to the entire resort. This includes The Prow restaurant, the cozy fireside lounge, all meeting rooms, 108 guestrooms, and access to the O’Connor House, providing an elevated and ultra-immersive retreat experience.
