March 27, 2020 (Calgary, AB) – Buffalo Mountain Lodge and Emerald Lake Lodge, part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts family, have decided the best course of action is to close its doors temporarily until June 2020. This decision is due to the COVID-19 outbreak and is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of our valued staff and guests. Buffalo Mountain Lodge is located in Banff, Alberta, and Emerald Lake Lodge is located near Field, British Columbia.
This decision also come in light of Parks Canada’s mandate to close all National Parks and Historic Sites to motor vehicle traffic as of this past Wednesday. Parks Canada said in a news release that highways and roadways through the areas will remain open for residents, but people are urged to stay home unless travel is essential.
All guests with existing reservations will be contacted to move their bookings to a later date.
CRMR values our guest and staff safety above all else, and we feel we are making the safest decision to ensure social distancing is enacted within our own family of companies.
