A side-step from the hustle and bustle of Banff, the lodge is located on Tunnel Mountain Road – just 3 minutes by car or 15 minutes by foot to the Banff town center. If you’re driving to Banff from the Calgary International Airport, the trip is a short 1.5 hours. Directions to Buffalo Mountain Lodge are below.

Directions to the lodge
From the West
Step 1
If heading westbound on the #1 Trans-Canada Highway (from Calgary or Canmore), take the first exit into Banff (Banff Minnewanka Loop exit.)
Step 2
Make a left off the exit and then take the first road to the left (Tunnel Mountain Road), which runs beside “Banff Rocky Mountain Resort”.
From the EAst
Step 1
If you are coming eastbound on the #1 Trans-Canada Highway (from Lake Louise), take the second exit into Banff.
Step 2
Then take the first left onto Tunnel Mountain Road. You will see a sign that leads to “Tunnel Mountain Campgrounds.”
Step 3
Follow the road for about 10 minutes passing the campgrounds and we are the second hotel on the left.
