Spotlighting our Team: Inspiring CRMR Careers – Jason

At Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts (CRMR), the work that goes into every department represents more than just a job. It’s a community built on passion, teamwork, and a shared love for mountain hospitality. Whether in our kitchens, dining rooms, or lodges, every role plays a part in creating the warmth and excellence our guests remember.

The CRMR Careers Employee Spotlight series celebrates the individuals who make that possible; the talented team members whose creativity, dedication, and teamwork bring our properties to life. These stories showcase not only their accomplishments but also the diverse opportunities that come with being part of the CRMR family.

This month, we’re excited to introduce Jason Isnor, Kitchen Supervisor at Emerald Lake Lodge, whose more than 12 years with CRMR reflect his deep commitment to great food, strong teamwork, and the unmatched experience of working in the heart of the Canadian Rockies.

Meet Jason Isnor, Kitchen Supervisor at Emerald Lake Lodge

CRMR Careers Staff Feature

Jason’s culinary journey at Emerald Lake Lodge started with a love for food, and the mountains. From there, Jason has grown into a integral part of the culinary program at the lodge, which continues to delight guests from around the world.

Jason first got into cooking because he loved working with his hands and creating food from scratch. What started as a simple passion at home turned into a rewarding culinary career surrounded by the natural beauty of the Rockies – and we’re lucky it did.

When asked what he enjoys most about working at Emerald Lake Lodge, Jason doesn’t hesitate: it’s the constant changes and the teamwork. No two days are the same, and he thrives on the energy and collaboration that define a busy kitchen in such a unique location.

Mountain Kitchens and Memorable Moments

After more than a decade with CRMR, Jason has seen (and cooked) it all. One of his proudest career moments has been the opportunity to work in the Rocky Mountains alongside an amazing crew and a talented chef team. The people, the location, and the shared commitment to great food make every service special.

Lessons from his culinary journey

Jason’s biggest lesson learned at CRMR:

“Work hard but have fun doing it.”

Outside of the kitchen, Jason enjoys spending time with his puppy, George, who keeps him on his toes and brings plenty of joy after a long day of cooking.

If he could travel anywhere for food, Jason says he’d head straight to Italy for classic spaghetti Bolognese and lasagna.
