Primary Function

As part of the marketing and communications team you play a pivotal role in developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns that leverage both print and digital channels to reach target audiences effectively. This position requires a blend of creative thinking, strategic planning, and hands-on execution to manage print materials and social media platforms, drive engagement, and support overall marketing objectives.

This role requires a blend of artistic talent, technical skills, and a keen understanding of design principles to produce high-quality graphics across various mediums. In addition, this position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality printed materials on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will focus on driving engagement and consumer-centric marketing initiatives that span multiple verticals. As a self-starter you will have a knack for organizing and executing projects with multiple stakeholders and vendors. This position is based in Calgary, but travel will be required on occasion.

Duties & Responsibilities

SOCIAL & CONTENT CREATION

  • Create and schedule engaging and visually appealing social media content, including graphics, videos, and written copy, to drive audience engagement, increase followership, and promote brand awareness (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest).
  • Create content (photos, videos, reels) that will drive awareness on social media platforms.
  • Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and messages, responding promptly to inquiries, engaging with followers, and managing online communities to foster positive interactions and enhance brand reputation.
  • Organize and execute creative shoots to facilitate content creation.
  • Use the company DSLR to create photos and content for social media and blogs.
  • Analyze performance data as well as content and make necessary changes to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Prepare monthly reports, analytics and KPI’s.

MARKETING 

  • Updating and managing online directory listings.
  • Aid in the development of digital marketing assets such as blogs
  • Assist in updating websites with new menus, files and relevant blogs
  • Executing monthly newsletters as well as abandon cart or sign-up promotions.
  • Work alongside city management teams and marketing team to develop promotional programs i.e. Feature menus, happy hour, Thanksgiving & Christmas Pre-Orders
  • Coordinating events and seasonal markets with internal teams
  • Managing influencer relations for multiple city properties

 

GRAPHIC DESIGN

  • Conceptualize and design visual assets such as branding materials, marketing collateral, digital ads, social media graphics, presentations, and product packaging that align with the organization’s brand identity and marketing objectives.
  • Translate creative briefs and conceptual ideas into visually engaging and compelling designs, incorporating feedback and revisions as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in graphic design, and incorporate innovative techniques and styles into design projects.
  • Use industry-standard graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to create and manipulate digital assets, illustrations, typography, and layouts.
  • Creating and executing marketing materials such as PPTs, posters etc.

PRINTING

  • Coordinate the production of all printed marketing materials including brochures, flyers, posters, banners, promotional merchandise, and any other print collateral as required.
  • Collaborate with external vendors such as printing companies, graphic design agencies, and suppliers to obtain quotes, place orders, and ensure timely delivery of print materials.
  • Coordinate the design and layout of printed menus, ensuring they adhere to brand guidelines and reflect the organization’s aesthetic.
  • Proofread menus for accuracy in pricing, descriptions, making corrections as needed.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of menus across online platforms
  • Manage the print production process from start to finish, including prepress preparation, proofing, printing, finishing, and distribution.
  • Maintain accurate records of print orders, invoices, and expenses, and provide regular reports to management as needed.
Experience
  • 1-3 years Marketing experience.
  • Experience with Canon or Nikon DSLR camera required.
  • Graphic design experience an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Previous work experience in a hotel or restaurant environment considered an asset.
  • Basic WordPress experience considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of MS Office coupled with excellent keyboarding skills.
  • An ability to take initiative, problem solve and multi-task.
  • A keen attention to detail.
  • A vehicle will be required to travel to and from the mountains or properties on occasion.
