Marketing Manager - Maternity Leave Cover

Primary Function

This position is responsible for managing marketing, communication, and event planning functions for the following CRMR properties: Buffalo Mountain Lodge, Deer Lodge, Emerald Lake Lodge, The Post Hotel & Spa, and Calgary properties (The Lake House, Urban Butcher, and Qeva). This role plays a pivotal part in optimizing the operational aspects of marketing, enhancing efficiency, implementing streamlined processes, and ensuring the seamless integration of marketing initiatives within the broader organizational framework. Additionally, this position involves coordinating and planning our Annual Charity Gala at Post Hotel & Spa. This position is based in Calgary.

Employment Terms: Maternity Leave Cover Starting July 2024 – (1 year, 2 month contract position).

Duties & Responsibilities

Campaign Management & Promotional Marketing Strategy

  • Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop paid media amplification and content distribution activities that complement organic and earned activities.
  • Work alongside each properties management team to develop promotional programs
  • Develop a marketing plan to execute the role out of the promotion and how it will be communicated to the consumer.
  • Provide and execute marketing initiatives with marketing team to assist with staff recruiting.

 

Event Planning

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of Kids Cancer Care Cocktail Gala 2025. Responsibilities include developing a comprehensive event strategy, managing budgets, securing sponsorships, coordinating with vendors, handling logistics, and overseeing marketing and promotional efforts.
  • Plan and execute offsite marketing events/sponsorship throughout the year in cooperation with the restaurants at the lodges.
  • Ensure signage has been arranged to properly represent the property that is participating.
  • Work with event organizers to ensure the agreed upon sponsorship has been fulfilled.
  • Coordinate and market in-property events such as wine dinners, music in the lounge, BLLT event participation etc.

Digital & Content Marketing

  • Provide training and guidance to social media and marketing team members on social media implementation best practices and strategies.
  • Build and execute social media advertising campaigns on budget and in a timely manner.
  • Oversee social media, content and blog calendar with the Marketing & Social Coordinator for all responsible properties and ensure all content is on brand.
  • Ensure all property websites are kept up to date with current packages/special promotions.

 

Marketing Operations & Communications

  • Build out communications pertaining to operational programs and guest relations.
  • Overseeing upsells within the properties and ensuring quick communications through Revinate.

 

Reporting & Analytics

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of marketing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Interpret data to provide actionable recommendations for improving marketing strategies and campaign performance.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
  • Assist in developing reporting and analytics dashboards to better understand web traffic
  • Assist in Google Audit and management of GA4.

 

Print Material

  • Work with each property and sales team to ensure that all marketing materials is current and accurate.
  • Ensuring that the information in the conference and wedding packages is correct and coordinating updates when necessary.
  • Assisting with managing external printing alongside print and marketing coordinator.

 

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to create and implement effective go to market strategies for new and existing products, services or systems.
  • Provide strategic marketing guidance and reporting
  • Assessing ROAS for programs and plans
  • Develop & implement strategic plans with measurable KPIS
  • Work alongside Director of Marketing to build out individualized property personas, branding as well as yearly marketing plans.
Experience
  • At least 5 years plus marketing experience, preferably in the food and beverage/hospitality industry.
  • Experience coordinating events is required.
  • Experience with Facebook Ads Manager and Google AdWords is required.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop required.
  • Experience reporting on Google Analytics is an asset.
  • An ability to take initiative and multi-task. Working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Trade Show experience an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle.
